BONNERS FERRY — For nearly 50 years, the Hoop Shoot has been developing gritty kids. The Elks Hoop Shoot is a Free Throw Program for Youth Ages 8-13.

On Friday, January 29th, Valley View Elementary held its annual Elks Hoop Shoot contest. Winners from each of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade classes came together at this event where they shot 25 free throws each in order to name a winner.

In normal years, our local winners would advance to the regional event in Sandpoint. That's not the case this year, unfortunately.

The winners of the 8/9-year-old division were Brydin Weymer and Daisy Williams. For the 10/11-year-old division, first place was Alex Jimenez and 2nd place was earned by Grady Atkins.
