Hellgate’s Covill scores 12, helps Knights beat Glacier girls

MISSOULA — Alex Covill led a balanced Missoula Hellgate attack with 12 points and the Knights downed Glacier 44-34 in Western AA girls’ basketball Saturday to stay unbeaten.

Ellie Keller poured in w18 points for the Wolfpack (6-5), including all her team’s points, seven, in the third quarter. Keller hit two 3-pointers and went 8-for-8 at the foul line for the game.

Glacier played without forward Sidney Gulick, who suffered a concussion Thursday night against Butte.

Ten of Covill’s points came after halftime as the Knights (9-0) pulled away from a 19-18 lead. Bailey Sayler added nine for Hellgate, including a third-quarter three.

Glacier’s next game is Thursday at Helena High.
