Lori Ann Stokes, of Orient, Washington, passed away in her home on Jan. 27, 2021.

Her passing was due to years of battling with diabetes. She was surrounded by everything she loved, her husband Paul Stokes and all her animals.

Lori was born Dec. 9, 1955, in Moses Lake, Washington, the first-born of four children to Robert D. and Maxine E. McAlavy.

Lori was born to be a shepherd. She started her fascination with a turtle; from that point on it grew in leaps and bounds to fish, birds, dogs, cats, goats and horses. Lori’s greatest passion was her horses, to train and to ride.

She is survived by her mother Maxine E. McAlavy of Moses Lake; her husband Paul H. Stokes of Orient; her three children Gene and Barbi Buchmann of Ephrata Washington, Timothy and Betsy Buchmann of Spokane, Washington and Connie and Kenny Bellows of Soap Lake, Washington.

She is also survived by her three siblings, brother Robert A. McAlavy of Orient, Washington, brother and sister-in-law Clark and Lynn McAlavy of Moses Lake, Washington and sister Janet S. Scott and future brother-in-law Skip Nordal of Poulsbo, Washington. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Darrel McAlavy.

May your heart be in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ!
