WALLACE — Organizers of the Historic Wallace Blues Festival announced Feb. 3 that the popular annual summer event has been canceled.

The Historic Wallace District Arts Council has invited community members and Wallace business owners to meet at 4:30 p.m. March 2 to discuss the possibility of launching the inaugural Historic Wallace Music Festival.

"With your critical involvement, we can make this event a smashing success and ensure that all health and safety protocols are met with the utmost attention," the council wrote in the Facebook event invite. "We at the Historic Wallace District Arts Council want to work hand in hand with local Wallace businesses and welcome any input, questions and/or concerns."

A proposed plan will be presented at this informational meeting. Nothing has been officially planned for a festival at this time.

"We want this to be a city-wide effort, which will help secure the most reward for our special city," the council wrote. "With that said, your input and feedback is vital."
