MATTAWA — The date for Scott Hyndman Day has been changed from March 1 to April 4, which he said is his birthday.
Hyndman served the city of Mattawa in city council and mayoral positions for 33 years, as well as helping with road projects and stripping police cars of city equipment prior to being sold.
Council member Brian Berghout proposed the day during a city council meeting on Feb. 4 as a way to recognize Hyndman for all the work he had done for the city of Mattawa. Berghout said Hyndman made his contributions without compensation.
