Kalispell could get a new coffee stand if the Flathead County Board of Adjustment approves the project during its next meeting on Tuesday.

Swan Peak Properties LLC is seeking a conditional-use permit to build a 10-by-20-foot coffee stand with two drive-thru windows at 43 Woodland Park Drive, in a lot partially occupied by self-storage buildings. The area is zoned for neighborhood and professional business, and surrounding lots are home to a drive-thru, a bar, an auto repair shop, a gas station and a convenience store.

County planning staff reported no objections to the proposed coffee stand.

Also on Tuesday, the Board of Adjustment will consider a request from JTC Properties LLC for a variance at 283 and 287 Eagle Bend Drive, a 0.2-acre residential property in Bigfork. The variance would allow for a second-story deck to narrowly exceed a 40% limit on lot coverage, which would alleviate challenges caused by rocky outcroppings on the property.

Planning staff, however, reported the application does not meet all necessary criteria, in part because the builder could simply make a smaller deck.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday and be held remotely via Zoom. Instructions for participating can be found on the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Department website.
