SANDPOINT — A former Bonner County man who allegedly fled the area after being indicted on multiple counts of lewd conduct has been arrested, according to the U.S. Marshals Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force.

Kenneth Bernard Kimbley III was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device after posting a $10,000 surety bond. However, it later discovered that he was never fitted with the device despite a court's order and failed to appear at subsequent court hearings.

Kimbley, 37, has been the subject of a $50,000 arrest warrant since August 2019, according to the Bonner County Sheriff's Office.

Two months before his disappearance, Kimbley was indicted by a Bonner County grand jury on nine counts of lewd and lascivious conduct. Kimbley is accused of molesting two preteens between 2011 and 2014 in Bonner and Kootenai counties.

Kimbley pleaded not guilty to the charges before allegedly going on the lam.

Kimbley was charged in Kootenai County with aiding and abetting lewd conduct, although the case was later dismissed, Idaho's iCourt database indicate.

The task force announced last month that Kimbley was arrested by at the Clock Tower Village Apartments Spokane Valley, Wash. Marshals said Kimbley had assumed a new alias while living with his girlfriend, Arin Johnson.

Marshals said Johnson, 40, was charged with rendering criminal assistance in the second degree. However, there is no record of that charge in Bonner or Spokane counties. There is also no record of Johnson being charged in U.S. District Court in Washington or Idaho.

Kimbley was scheduled to make another initial appearance in Bonner County on Monday via videoconferencing with the Bonner County Jail. A failure-to-comply hearing is set for Jan. 11, court records show.
