POST FALLS — Skylar Burke scored 15 points and the Coeur d’Alene Vikings jumped on top early en route to a 56-43 victory over the Post Falls Trojans in Inland Empire League play Tuesday night at The Arena.

On Friday, Coeur d’Alene plays host to Lake City, and Post Falls travels to Lewiston.

LEWISTON — Defensively, it was exactly what Lakeland coach Steve Seymour likes to see.
Offensively, that’s still a work in progress for now, but he’ll take a road win anywhere.
Katy Ryan had 18 points, 10 rebounds, nine blocked shots and two assists for the Hawks in an Inland Empire League win over the Bengals at Lewiston High.
“We’d play well for minutes at a time, but threw it away too often,” Seymour said. “We’ll take that kind of effort and a road win though. Defensively, we did some good things. Lewiston is a scrappy team and works hard. We just held onto the ball too long at the wrong times, but it gives us something to work on.”
Addie Kiefer had 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals for Lakeland (6-5, 4-3 IEL), which hosts Sandpoint on Jan. 15.
Zoie Kessinger scored 15 points for Lewiston (3-7, 0-4), which hosts Post Falls on Friday.

ST. MARIES — After a 41-point setback last Saturday, St. Maries coach Gary Krumheuer was hoping for a bit of a bounceback effort from his team.
While it didn’t get any easier, with the defending 1A Division I champions in town, the coach saw plenty to build on going forward.
Jordyn McCormick-Marks scored 14 points for the Wildcats (10-0) in a win over the Lumberjacks.
“We played them earlier this year and lost 77-48,” said Krumheuer, whose team lost at Sandpoint on Saturday in its return following a two-week holiday break. “The game started slowly and neither team could hit a basket. Lapwai is such a good team, and their fast break is amazing. This was a good rebound game for us, and our girls found out they could play with a good team.”
Jenna Holder scored 17 points for St. Maries (2-7), which hosts Wallace on Thursday.
