BONNERS FERRY — A mysterious woman named Cindy donated blankets to veterans at all Veterans of Foreign Wars posts in the Idaho panhandle.

Commander of VFW Post 3622, Ben Apo, received a call from Cindy, who never provided her last name but wanted to give veterans blankets.

The members of Post 3622 decided to give the blankets to the veterans at the Resotorium. Jim Thompson helped to deliver the blankets the day before Christmas eve.

On Christmas Day, the gifts were handed out to veterans at the Restorium.

According to Thompson, the veterans at the Restorium were ecstatic to receive their gifts, but most importantly, people are paying attention to them and acknowledging them.

Thompson proudly stated the happiness the veterans felt in receiving the blankets, “They [veterans] were tickled to death.”

Many veterans at Post 3622 are working on doing more for the veterans at the Restorium and those without means, especially since residents have been on lockdown and not received visitation because of the COVID-19 concerns.
