Scouts earn Eagle awards

Several North Idaho Boy Scouts recently earned their Eagle Scout awards.

Lucas Christopher Cheeley of Post Falls was awarded the Boy Scouts of America’s highest rank in June.

For his Eagle Scout service project the member of Post Falls Troop 3213 fundraised, organized and led about 30 volunteers to build 10 bunk beds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace in Spokane.

Lucas is the son of Chris and LeeAnn Cheeley.

Christopher Branom of Liberty Lake was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in July 12. For his Eagle service project the member of Post Falls Troop 3213 fundraised, organized and led more than a dozen volunteers to cut, split, stack and deliver over 10 cords of firewood for Elder Help of North Idaho.

Branom is a senior at Central Valley High School and is the son of John and Tammy Branom of Liberty Lake.

Dakota Rayne Livingston of Post Falls was awarded his Eagle Scout on Sept. 23. He is a member of Post Falls Troop 321. For his Eagle service project Livingston fundraised, organized and led his team to build and install removable walls for an employee break room at the Post Falls Food Bank.

He is a senior at Post Falls High School and is the son of Scott and Jackie Livingston of Post Falls.

Isaac Von Zane of Post Falls was awarded Eagle Scout on Dec. 17. For his Eagle service project, Von fundraised, organized and led a team to design and install a picnic shelter in Roth Park for the city of Rathdrum.

Zane is a senior at Post Falls High School and is the son of Ryan and Lisa Zane of Post Falls.

The rank of Eagle is awarded to 6% of all Scouts. Each candidate must earn 21 merit badges and complete a community, church, or synagogue-related service project to earn their Eagle.
