Wildcat boys basketball took home another win, 61-52, against the Libby Loggers on Friday before taking their first loss of the season against Polson, 81-49, Saturday evening.

The Cats played a powerfully offensive game against the Loggers, said head coach Chris Finberg, executing precise ball movement that lent itself to evenly distributed, high-percentage scoring. Four players were in double figures.

Cade Morgan led the Cats in points against the Loggers with 19, sinking five three-pointers throughout the game. Allec Knapton followed with 12 points, Alihn Anderson and Jace Hill with 10, and Cooper Babcock with four.

Saturday’s game against Polson went differently as the Cats faced off against an experienced Pirate lineup containing at least three players over 6-foot-3.

“We didn’t do the things needed to combat that,” said Finberg. “Offensively we were a little tentative. We didn’t pull the trigger a few times on some open looks and our ball movement wasn’t as crisp as it was against Libby.”

Hill led the Cats in points against Polson with 12, followed by Knapton and Anderson with 11, Morgan with seven, Aaron Trueblood with six, and Mason Peters with two. Knapton secured double digits in both points and rebounds each game.

The Cats compete next against Whitefish on the Bulldog court at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday and host Browning at home Saturday at 4 p.m.
