Officials are investigating a law enforcement-involved shooting after Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance about 8:30 a.m., Jan. 14.
Few details about the incident were immediately available. A press release issued by the sheriff’s office said only that deputies responded to a domestic disturbance involving weapons. Law enforcement personnel subsequently shot a man allegedly embroiled in the situation.
First responders took the man to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center. From there, he was flown to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
The press release did not specify where in the county the incident occurred. The disturbance remains under investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
A team comprised of members of the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and Kalispell Police Department will investigate the officer-involved shooting, authorities said.
One Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
