Since its inception more than 50 years ago, TDS Fiber's company ethos has been one steeped in service to community.
"Part of our mission statement of TDS is we believe in becoming active members of the community in which we serve. That is something we're highly encouraged to do," North Idaho associate field marketing manager Anita Parisot said Tuesday. "They really encourage us to get involved in our communities to find where the needs are and then address those needs."
This philosophy of giving has only been heightened through the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the midst of the Business Journal of North Idaho's Best of 2021 contest, TDS is offering to sponsor gold voting packages worth $1,025 each for five local nonprofits that are nominated by the community.
Visit https://tds-best-of-sponsorship.webflow.io/ to nominate your favorite nonprofits to give them a shot at winning marketing services to raise awareness and capture more eyeballs for their organizations.
The five winning nonprofits will be announced in an upcoming edition of The Press.
"TDS is such an incredible part of our community," Best Of coordinator and Press Advertising Director Kari Packer said. "We always welcome the opportunity to support our local not-for-profit organizations."
Parisot said North Idaho wouldn't have made it through COVID without the work of the many amazing nonprofits in the area.
"One of the reasons we're doing this is because we want to recognize the best nonprofits in the community and give them that boost," she said. "We know it’s been a challenging year.
"The list is long and the need is great," she said. "Let's get the word out."
Nominations for the gold Best Of packages, compliments of TDS Fiber, will be accepted through midnight Sunday.

If the Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy mascot wasn't the Panther, would it be a penguin? A nerd? A weasel? An owl? Tears? “A unicorn?” language arts teacher Heather Solsvik guessed. “No,” Vice Principal Aaron Lippy, emcee, said as students laughed. “K, guys, this is 'Charter Feud,' we need to think something Charter-ish."
