Columbia Falls sweeps Eureka; Whitefish splits with Libby

EUREKA — Hannah Schweikert poured in 21 points for the Columbia Falls Wildkats in a 67-49 non-conference victory over the Eureka Lady Lions on Friday.

The Lions hung close and even got within one point in the fourth quarter before the Wildkats drained several three-pointers and foul shots to pull away. Columbia Falls scored nine 3s in the game and Eureka scored seven.

Lakia Hill added 17 points for the Wildkats (7-0 overall, 4-0 conference) and Maddie Robison scored 14.

Katie Schmidt scored a season-high 22 for the Lions (6-2, 4-0), while Michael Shea, Kyla Bohne and Reena Truman each scored seven points.

WHITEFISH — Three players scored in double digits and Brook Smith had a double-double for the Whitefish Lady Bulldogs in a 49-31 Northwest A win over the Libby Loggers.

Smith scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds. Erin Wilde and Gracie Smyley each scored 10 for the Bulldogs (3-2 overall, 1-1 conference)

Elise Erickson led Libby (0-5, 0-4) with 11 points.

TROY — Emma Berreth put up 15 points for the Bigfork Valkyries in a 47-10 rout of the Troy Trojans in District 7B play.

Callie Gambada and Scout Nadeau each scored nine for the Valkyries.

Troy was led by Elaine Folkerts, who scored five points.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Cade Morgan’s 21 points helped push the Columbia Falls Wildcats to a 68-42 win over the Eureka Lions in a non-conference game.

Jace Hill added 14 for the Wildcats (5-2 overall, 3-2 conference) and Allec Knapton checked in with 12.

For the Lions, TJ Carr led with 10 points and Danny Dunn scored nine.

LIBBY — The Libby Loggers defeated the Whitefish Bulldogs 52-39 behind Caden Williams’ 25 points in Northwest A play.

TJ Anderson added 19 for Libby (2-4 overall, 2-3 conference).

Bodie Smith paced the Bulldogs (1-4, 0-2) with 13 points, and Talon Holmquist scored 11.
