Moses Lake Christian Church is teaming with Cascadia Produce to distribute USDA food boxes for the Farmers to Families Food Box Program beginning Thursday, and every Thursday thereafter through Feb. 25.

The “truck to trunk” distribution will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 200 Yonezawa Blvd.

No proof of need is required and anyone is welcome to pick up a 30-pound box of food. Sharon Erlenmeyer, worship coordinator with the church, said Cascadia Produce had similar events on the west side of the state and was looking for nonprofits in the Basin area to help.

Erlenmeyer said boxes will include a variety of items to last a family of four about a week. She said the church is happy to help struggling families in the community.
