Sac State at EWU men's games pushed back to Sunday and Monday

CHENEY — Thursday's and Saturday's Big Sky Conference men's basketball games between Eastern Washington and Sacramento State at Reese Court were postponed to Sunday and Monday, as Eastern has paused all activities following a positive COVID-19 test result amongst Tier 1 individuals in the EWU program.

Both of the rescheduled games are now scheduled for 11 a.m., pending results from COVID-19 testing today.

Eastern also hosts volleyball matches vs. Northern Colorado on those same two days and they have been rescheduled to 3:30 p.m. (previously 2 p.m.).

Zags' Timme named to Karl Malone Award Top Ten Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Gonzaga sophomore Drew Timme was named one of the 10 candidates for the 2020 Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Thursday.

Entering Thursday's play, Timme is second in the West Coast Conference averaging 18.5 points, while shooting a league best 61.2 percent from the field. His 6.93 rebounds per game ranks fifth in the WCC.

Five finalists will be presented to Malone and the Hall of Fame’s selection committee in late February.

Zag women reschedule BYU for Tuesday

SPOKANE —– Gonzaga's women’s basketball team will play host to BYU in a rescheduled game Tuesday at 6 p.m. SWX is set to broadcast the game locally.

The Feb. 2 contest replaces the previously scheduled game against BYU at home on Jan. 23. BYU was forced to postpone that game due to COVID-19 protocols within the Cougars’ program.

WSU men's basketball's game vs. Stanford moved to Feb. 20

SAN FRANCISCO - Washington State's home men's basketball game vs. Stanford has been moved to Feb. 20 from Feb. 20.

The game will be televised on ESPNU with a tip time yet to be determined.

The game is the final regular season home contest for the Cougars and the final of five straight at home at Beasley Coliseum.
