101 and still going strong

For the fourth straight day, the thermometer topped 100 degrees in Coeur d'Alene on Thursday.
"This is one long heat wave," said Press Climatologist Cliff Harris.
Thursday's 101 degrees broke the single-day record for July 1 of 98 degrees set in 1964. The low was 73, so things cooled off only slightly into the night.
Harris said that over the past four days, Coeur d'Alene has had temperatures of 105,107, 106 and 101 — each a record-setter.
Much to the dismay of most folks, the area could break the century mark yet again today.
"We're going to be close," Harris said.
