Fireworks truck destroyed by fire

A professional pyrotechnic company’s box truck burned early Sunday morning, just south of Ephrata, according to Grant County Fire District 13.
Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire call and found the truck engulfed in flames next to a field. The fire extended to the vegetation, but the flames weren’t spreading rapidly. A wildland tactical tender truck, Engine 1311, arrived and extinguished the flames.
The pyrotechnic truck didn’t have any fireworks in it when the blaze started. It transported fireworks to a display Saturday night in Crescent Bar, the post stated. It did have equipment for Sunday’s display in George, but the crew was working to replace that and didn’t expect the George display to be affected.
The Grant County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
