Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking applicants for its Region 1 Citizen Advisory Council.

The council, which oversees northwest Montana, advises FWP officials on regional and statewide issues and programs and policies. The panel helps highlight areas of improvement in the department, spot emerging trends, resolve conflicts and offer guidance, according to an FWP press release.

During their two-year terms, council members act as liaisons to interest groups and foster communication between the public and FWP. Members should bring feedback from their constituents to the council and relay information from FWP to their communities.

Successful candidates should be able to attend four meetings per year. The deadline to apply for the council is July 30.

Applications are available online at https://fwp.mt.gov/aboutfwp/regions/region1. Candidates should submit completed applications to Martha Abbrescia at mabbrescia@mt.gov.
