Voyles, 37, was the top local finisher in Ironman Coeur d’Alene on June 27. He completed the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike leg and 26.2-mile run in 9 hours, 57 minutes, 43 seconds. It was his fifth Ironman race, all in Coeur d’Alene. “This year's race was the first of five full Ironman attempts where I felt physically fit, adequately prepared, and the execution of my race plan matched my abilities and expectations,” Voyles said. “Throughout the entire run I was thinking about a refreshing jump into the lake after the race.”
