MEDIMONT — Divers located the body of a 45-year-old Kellogg man believed to have drowned on the Coeur d’Alene River.

Kevin L. Walker went missing Saturday, after jumping from a boat into the river near Kilarney Lake.

He was not wearing a life jacket, police said, and attempts to throw one to him when he began to struggle were unsuccessful.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office sonar and dive teams searched for Walker but were unable to find him.

Marine deputies continued to patrol the river.

KCSO divers reportedly found Walker’s body near the area where he disappeared under the surface.

An autopsy is pending.

Police said foul play is not suspected at this time.
