MURRAY — There were a lot of mini men with many moves last weekend at the Bedroom Goldmine Bar when Extreme Dwarfanators Wrestling (EDW) came to town.

More than 300 people made their way up to Murray for an entire afternoon and evening of small town summer fun.

The fun kicked off with live music from The Usual Suspects, but the main event — as expected — was the wrestling.

The self-proclaimed "Baddest Little Show on the Plant" has a vast roster of wrestlers, many of whom bring some historic and global recognition to the event, including Octagoncito, who is a current champion in Mexico’s Universal Wrestling Association (UWA).

Both Octagoncito and fellow grappler Tsuky have worked in some of the biggest wrestling companies in the world including World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA).

With the Character Complex Wildfire burning just a few miles from where the event was held, there was some fortuitous timing according to Bedroom Gold Mine owner Chris Littlejohn.

“We got a really nice break from the smoke during the afternoon, which really was awesome,” Littlejohn said. “It was just a great night with the live music and the wrestling. They always put on a great show for us.”

For the wrestlers themselves, they are used to putting on shows in larger venues, but the atmosphere in Murray really made it feel like a miniature Wild West.

"The performers talked to me afterwards and they felt it went great,” Littlejohn said previously. “They thought it was really cool to be in Murray. They don't usually perform in towns like that."

This event has become a kickoff of sorts for several events scheduled in the Murray area, including the upcoming Dennis Funke Memorial Car Show on Aug. 7, and then the wildly popular Molly B’Damn Days which is slated for Aug. 20-21.

This was the third time since 2018 that EDW has made their way to Murray, but it may have been the last year for Littlejohn in terms of being the promoter of the event.

“I’m going to go retire and lay by a pool,” Littlejohn joked.
