A Vancouver, Wash., man died in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Coeur d'Alene.

Kerry S. Speight, 74, was westbound in the alley between Wallace Avenue and Garden Avenue in a 2002 Volvo V70 Station Wagon shortly before 9 a.m. when he failed to maintain his lane and collided with a a closed garage door at 505 N. Third St., according to the Idaho State Police.

Speight, who was wearing his seat belt, died at the scene.

An investigation continues.
