SANDPOINT — The field for the 119th Pacific Northwest Golf Association Men’s Amateur Championship at The Idaho Club was cut down to 64 players following a second round of 18 holes of stroke play on Tuesday.

The tournament will now move to match play until a winner is crowned during a 36-hole championship match on Saturday.

After the two rounds of stroke play, Cullen Brasfield from La Quinta, California, and Mateo Fuenmayor from Beaverton, Oregon, finished in a tie for first at 3-under-par (139).

Brandon Eyre, Jaden Cantafio, Brady Arnett and Ben Warian were the only other players to finish under par following the two rounds.

The cut line was 11-over-par (153). Unfortunately, 2006 Sandpoint grad Joey Lovell missed out on making it to match play by just a few strokes.
