GULF SHORES, Ala. — TJ Davis took home All-American honors this past week while competing for Eastern Oregon University at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The 2018 Sandpoint High grad placed seventh in the decathlon to secure All-American honors.

Davis finished in the top 10 of each event in the decathlon and grabbed first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.94. He had 6,627 total points.

Davis, who holds the SHS record in the 110 hurdles, also earned NAIA All-American honors during this year's indoor season when he took seventh in the heptathlon.

This was Davis' first season competing at EOU. He received a scholarship to the school last April after spending the previous two years at Spokane Falls Community College.

Davis, a sophomore, will have two more years to accomplish his goal of becoming an NAIA national champion in the decathlon.
