The Columbia Falls girls softball team went .500 at the state tournament in Butte last week.

The Wildkats opened the tournament against Park County High with a slugfest, losing 13-11. The Kats racked up 10 hits in the loss.

They then battled back to drop Havre in the loser out bracket Friday, 14-4, and then beat host Butte Central 9-2 as the Kats bats stayed hot.

But in the third game of the day, the Kats lost to Fergus County 8-4.

Against Havre, Sydney Mann pitched the win and went 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored, while Alyssa Blankenship and Haylee Lawrence hit home runs.

Against Butte, Abbey Underdahl and Izzy Johnson both had homers.

The Kats were 13-13 on the year.

Polson won the tourney.
