Loggers enjoy success at state track meet

The Libby Loggers saw success at the Class A state track meet, securing multiple top-10 finishes along with some hardware.

Jay Beagle took the gold in the 400-meter sprint with a time of 49.38 seconds. He also placed third in the 100-meter sprint with a time of 11.43 seconds. In the prelims for the 100-meter, Beagle set a personal record of 11.02 seconds.

Beagle secured bronze again in the 200-meter with a time of 22.59 seconds. In the javelin event, he came in 12th place with a throw of 141 feet and three inches.

Olivia Gilliam-Smith took fifth place for Libby in the long jump with a jump of 16 feet and 7.75 inches.

Trey Anderson came in fifth place in the high jump with a personal record jump of six feet.

Rylee Boltz took ninth place for Libby in the 400-meter event, putting down a time of one minute and 1.43 seconds. Boltz placed tenth in the high jump with a jump of four feet eight inches.

Cy Stevenson placed ninth in the 12-pound shot put event with a personal record-setting throw of 45 feet 2.25 inches.
