Public comment for Huetter Corridor plan today
MADISON HARDY | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 3 years, 7 months AGO
The Kootenai Metropolitan Planning Organization will host a virtual open house today from 4 to 7 p.m. for the public on the 2021 Metropolitan Transportation Plan Huetter North Alignment Update.
In a collaborative effort between KMPO, the Idaho Transportation Department, local jurisdictions and agencies, the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) forms a basis of significant regional transportation investments and financial coordination. The plan documents existing conditions and anticipates future impacts associated with growth and development.
As recommended by the KMPO Technical Committee, the MTP will incorporate an alignment change on the north side of the Huetter Corridor. The adjustment will push the corridor connection from U.S. 95 and State Highway 53 south toward U.S. 95 and Boekel Road.
The update will also include travel demand forecasts, according to the notice for public comment.
A copy of the MTP update and related materials is available at kmpo.net or by contacting KMPO at kmpo@kmpo.net or 208-930-4164.
Comments made by the public will be provided to the KMPO board of directors as part of their decision-making process. The comment period will be open until June 25 at 5 p.m. and must be submitted to kmpo@kmpo.net or KMPO — 250 Northwest Blvd., Suite 209, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
