Beth Tudahl, 68
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 5 years, 2 months AGO
Beth Lynette Tudahl, 68, of Hauser, Idaho, passed away into the arms of our Lord on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Kootenai Health. Beth Van Dyke was born on Nov. 10, 1952, in Ypsilanti, N.D., the daughter of John Van Dyke and Marie (Roorda) Van Dyke. She graduated from Montpelier High School in North Dakota and North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton with a certification in dental assisting.
In Wahpeton, Beth met the love of her life, Ron Tudahl, by his mail falling into her mailbox; thus, meeting him in the student union building to deliver his mail. Ron would always say that she “stole his mail just to meet him.” They began to talk more each day from that day forward, and she ended up “stealing his heart.”
Ron and Beth were married on July 20, 1973, in a small country church, The North Marion Reformed Church in Marion, North Dakota. The first six years of marriage, they moved a few times until purchasing a home in Dickinson, N.D., residing there for 13 years.
They moved to Post Falls, Idaho, in 1989, while working for a pediatric dental office as a dental assistant. Beth then worked for Landy Care Northwest, a Personal Care Agency, in 1997 as an Office Manager and transitioned when it became part of Wellspring Meadows Assisted Living and In-home Care in 2007. She worked as their Administrator for In-home Care until her passing.
She will be missed as she had a passion for serving those who needed assistance. Beth was a dedicated person who always put others before her own needs. She rarely missed work and never missed an opportunity to go and support her family.
Beth was always the No. 1 fan of any sporting event. You could always tell who she was cheering for by what she was wearing for the day. You could hear her cheering on her grandchildren, the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, Gonzaga Bulldogs, or whoever was playing on the TV that day from miles away.
She was always up for an adventure and loved to travel. Her recent trip to North Dakota was a true blessing to see her family. Before COVID-19, she checked off Las Vegas from her bucket list and traveled to Mesa, Ariz., to visit family and go to a Chicago Cubs spring training game. She gave her family and friends unforgettable memories, touched our hearts, and truly blessed us all.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and John Van Dyke, and three aunts: Annetta Hansen, Rena Van Dyke, and Julie Heim. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ron; her brothers: Darwin (Jill) Van Dyke, Duke (Carla) Van Dyke; sisters: Gladys (Jim) Ruckle, Linda (Kenny) Kylmanen, Karen (Dick) Hansen, Lavon (Jeff) Veil; her children: daughter, Stephanie (Juan) Godinez of Hauser, Idaho, and son, Kyle Tudahl of Post Falls, Idaho; grandchildren: Ezra Godinez, Isaac Godinez, Elias Godinez, Chaylin Ferra, Torrin Knowles, Eris and Tahlula.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at The Altar church, 901 E. Best Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
Beth’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kurt Neely and your wonderful team at Wellsprings for the years of support; the entire staff at Kootenai Health; The Altar for opening your arms; and to our family and friends for all the love and support.
