West Bonner Libraries ready for a summer of fun
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 3 years, 11 months AGO
The West Bonner Libraries has lots of fun events planned for summer, WBL Executive Director Katie Crill said.
For youth in kindergarten through sixth grade, it's Summer Reading time. The theme for this year's program is "Tails and Tales".
The fun begins at the Blanchard Library with a three-day Summer Reading Day Camp on June 15, 16 and 17 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Priest River Library's Summer Reading will be held at Priest River City Park on Tuesdays, June 29 through Aug. 3, 10:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Online registration is available at https://westbonner.lili.org/summer-reading, or register at either library.
Preschool Story Time on Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. in Blanchard and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in Priest River will follow the Tails and Tales theme this summer. However, StoryTime will not be held on June 16-17, or on June 23-24.
Thanks to a Make It @ Your Library grant from the Idaho Commission for Libraries, a special summer project is in the works for youth between the ages of 12 and 18. Thanks to the grant, the project will allow the youth to create virtual reality tours and games that center around the community.
Projects will be posted on the library's Facebook page and voted on by the public. First and second place will receive Visa gift cards.
There will be an informational meeting at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 10. Please call the library at 208-448-2207 or email library@westbonnerlibrary.org if you plan to attend.
Teen Book Bingo is underway. Stop by either library and pick up a bingo card. Complete the reading challenges by July 31 to be entered in a prize drawing on Aug. 1.
