Dorothy Jean Hougan

February 9, 1927 – March 10, 2021

Dorothy Jean Hougan passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on March 10, 2021.

Born on February 9, 1927, to Clinton and DeEtte Park, Dorothy was raised and went to school in Whatcom County. She married Arnold M. Hougan and together they raised their four children on their small farm. Later, Dorothy and Arnold went to Othello, Washington, where she co-owned The Fashion Shoppe with her sister-in-law. Upon retirement, the couple went to Grand Coulee, Washington. After Arnold’s death, Dorothy moved to Moses Lake. She was well attended to at Lake Ridge Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Robert and Clinton Park, sisters Lillian Munson and Florence Strube and daughter Jan Hougan. She is survived by her sons Mike Hougan of Roseville, Oregon, and Craig Hougan (Sharon) of East Wenatchee, daughter Kay Hougan-Jones of Moses Lake, sister June Barnett, several nephews and nieces, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service on June 26, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Spring Canyon Cemetery at Grand Coulee, Washington. The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
