Andrew Stiger has stepped down from his position as Libby Elementary School principal.
Libby Public School Board members accepted Stiger’s resignation during a June 14 meeting.
“Andrew we will miss you and we thank you for all you’ve done,” said board member Bgee Zimmerman. “You really have been a godsend.”
Board members elevated Stiger, who will be taking a position in Kalispell, from assistant principal to principal of the elementary school last fall.
For the remainder of the academic year, Stiger helped shepherd the elementary school through the pandemic. Whereas most schools across the country remained closed, the elementary school only temporarily suspended in-person learning twice in the fall.
During the school board meeting, Stiger thanked school board members for their support.
“Thank you so much for your confidence in me these last four years, and thank you as a board for your leadership.”
