Richard E. Gillen, Jr
Feb. 9, 1974 - May 31, 2021
Richie was born in Tulare, Calif., to Richard and Carolyn Gillen. He spent most of his childhood in Tulare/Corcoran, Calif., until he moved with his family to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 1990.
In his late 20s he decided to leave Idaho and head out on his own to take on the world. He traveled around to many places and lived in various cities on his adventures. He last resided in San Francisco, Calif.
Richie was taught the Auto Body Repair trade at an early age by his Dad. He worked at the family Auto Body shop in Corcoran, Calif., and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, off and on for many years. After years of working an 8-5 job he decided to go out and carve his own path and be free from the daily grind. Richie was known by family and friends as a free spirit who lived by his own rules.
Richie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Orlena Sullivan, William and Margaret Gillen; aunt Shirley Ryals: uncles Billy, Charlie and Donald Gillen.
Richie is survived by his parents Richard Gillen Sr., and Carolyn Gillen, Newport, Wash.; sisters, Stacy (David) Hartman, Coeur d'Alene, Harmonie (Toby) Hills, St. Maries, Idaho; brother, Micah (Brittany) Gillen, Newport, Wash.; two nieces, Savanna and Scarlett Breazeal; seven nephews, Jayse and Javier Ruiz, Liam Hartman, Fisher, Porter and Finley Hills, and Athan Brezeal; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Richie was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. We love you Richie and now more than ever we will keep focused on the resurrection hope. We all look forward to seeing you again, especially your loving parents. John 5:28, Acts 24:15
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
