COEUR d'ALENE — Lake Coeur d'Alene Cruises launched its largest cruise ship, the Coeur d'Alene, into the Spokane River on Tuesday.

Representatives from Hagadone Marine Group and Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruises gathered at Finney Boat Works at 7014 E. Maplewood Ave. in Coeur d'Alene to see the massive vessel set afloat.

Able to carry about 400 passengers, the ship recently underwent a major renovation.

After 34 straight days of restoration, the Coeur d'Alene is ready for passengers to climb aboard.

Fred Finney, owner of Finney Boat Works in Coeur d’Alene, led the restoration.

“I’ve worked 34 days straight," Finney told The Press. "The shortest day I’ve had in 34 days is 12 hours.”
