Independence Day packed with activities

BONNERS FERRY — The local Independence Day celebration starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, with a hometown parade; the theme is “2021: Our Past and Our Future.”

All businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to join with their decked-out patriotic parade entries. Line up will begin at 10 a.m. at the fairgrounds parking lot.

Awards will be presented for most patriotic float, the best representation of Bonners Ferry and best Badger pride.

Every entry to the parade will be entered into a drawing with the winner of the drawing receiving a basket of hometown goods.

An award for the most patriotic storefront in Bonners Ferry will also be given.

The day will include 9B Arenacross & Independence Day Celebration with a free fireworks show.

The 9B Arenacross gates open at 4:30 p.m. and conclude at 9:30, with fireworks that will start after 10 p.m. in the parks and recreation ball fields.

There will be food vendors throughout the evening as well as a speaker or two between the races and fireworks.
