The Better Together Animal Alliance is partnering with EzyDog and Big White Dog Photography as part of a photobook package for pet owners, with proceeds going to benefit BTAA.

“Paws of the Panhandle, a coffee-table photo book, will celebrate the human-pet connection of animal lovers throughout North Idaho,” BTAA officials said in a press release.

The sessions will be scheduled at scenic locations around North Idaho, including Sandpoint, Rathdrum and Coeur d’Alene. Sessions are $125, with $75 of each session going to BTAA.

Five upgrades for Adventure Day sessions with a full hike in North Idaho are also being offered, and are available for $300 with $200 going to the alliance.

Angela Schneider, owner and photographer at Big White Dog Photography in Spokane, specializes in photographing people and their dogs.

As the photographer who took the photos for BTAA’s new website, Schneider approached the alliance with the proposed fundraiser, said Paige McGowan, BTAA development director.

"Angela came to us with the incredible idea of producing a photobook," McGowan said. "She is a very talented photographer with the ability to produce photographs that bring out the special bond between a dog and his human."

An award-winning photographer and writer, Schneider was named the winner of the Series Photo category of the 2020 Dog Writers Association of America awards.

"It's important for me to give back to the dog community by creating fundraising opportunities and donating session times to rescues and shelters," she said. "My own dogs have taught me so much and meant so much to me that I want to ensure others have the chance to memorialize the special love they've discovered. I can't think of a better way than a photobook."

EzyDog, a locally-based company that sells gear including leashes, collars, vests and other products, is sponsoring the Adventure Day sessions with custom-fit EzyDog gear for participants to keep afterward.

Registration is limited to 40 participants, plus five Adventure Day upgrades. Sessions will be scheduled May through June. Photo Books will be available for presale in August.

Those interested in the photobook sessions can register low through around April 15 at bigwhitedogphotography.com/paws-of-the-panhandle.
