Sports roundup: Ephrata's Hayden Roberts takes first again at Eastmont on Saturday

Softball
Moses Lake 18, Pasco 2
Harley Raymond finished 4-4 from the plate for the Chiefs with a pair of homers and two RBI’s. Ali Stanley led Moses Lake with five RBIs, finishing 2-3 from the plate with one home run. Madi Olson and Laurissa Martinez each knocked homers for the Chiefs too in the opening game of Thursday’s double header.
Moses Lake 20, Pasco 1
The Chiefs followed up a seven-run first inning with 12 in the second to jump ahead early on their way to picking up the sweep against Pasco on the road. Harley Raymond and Madi Olson both notched four RBIs in the win. Raymond knocked a pair of home runs for the second game in a row, with Olson adding her second of the day too.
Ali Stanley and Laurissa Martinez both added homers for the second game in a row, while Taylor Hofheins added two doubles in a 2-4 performance from the plate.
Cross Country
XC Meet at Eastmont, 3/13
Ephrata’s Hayden Roberts finished first at the men’s cross country meet at Eastmont on Saturday with teammate Hans Roberts taking third place. Royal’s Abraham Montoya finished sixth overall in the 5,000 meter event.

Cascade’s Landon Davies took first, with Moses Lake’s Ethan LaBonte finished third overall on Saturday in the 5,000 meter event. Teammates Nicholas Elliott and Devon Taylor took sixth and seventh overall.

Girls soccer
Ephrata 1, Cashmere 2
Ephrata’s Lynette Sanchez on Tuesday gave the Tigers the early lead on an unassisted goal in the first half, 1-0. Cashmere answered early in the second half to even the game at 1-1. A handball call in the box gave Cashmere the penalty kick with about 27 minutes left in the game to put the visitors ahead 2-1.
Cashmere finished with 19 shots on goal compared to 14 for the Tigers. Ephrata moves to 3-3 on the season and will travel to face Moses Lake for the second time on Saturday.
Wahluke 8, Omak 0
Wahluke’s Alondra Lozano scored four goals in the win against Omak on the road on Tuesday. Forward Ana Andrade also finished with the hat trick for the Warriors with three goals, while Hiselle Lozano chipped in the final goal in the dominant win.
The Warriors move to 5-1 on the season and will face off against Tonasket at home on Saturday.
Moses Lake 4 Cascade 2
Chiefs forward Natalie Bunch scored two in the win over Cascade on Tuesday. Olivia Waites and Isabelle Huberdeau each added a goal as Moses Lake won their third straight game after beginning the season 0-3. Moses Lake will get a second shot at Ephrata on Saturday when they host the Tigers at Lions Field at 1 p.m.
