CLARKSTON, Wash. - The Coeur d'Alene boys and girls golfers each won team titles at the Moscow Invitational on Monday, played at Clarkston Country Club.

Led by medalist Parker Freeman's 2-over-par 74, the Viking boys shot 328 to win the six-team event by 20 strokes.

Trey Nipp's 78 was the third-best boys score on a day that began with cold temps and tough conditions, CHS coach Chase Bennett said.

"I was very proud of our team's mental toughness today. It's not easy to load a bus at 5:15 a.m. in freezing temps and snow, then travel three hours to complete," Bennett said. "Parker Freeman and Trey Nipp played outstanding on a very tough course in tough conditions."

Post Falls took second with a 348 team score, led by Blake Gleaves' 83, good for fifth place among boys golfers.

Lakeland's Aden Sandlin finished fourth among individuals with an 81.

GIRLS: Priest, Deprez share medalist honors

Coeur d'Alene's Brianna Priest and Sandpoint's CeCe Deprez each shot 93 to share medalist honors, but the Vikings carded a team score of 399 to beat the Bulldogs by nine strokes.

Viking Holly Hudson's 99 was fifth-best among girls golfers, while Sandpoint's Hattie Larson finished third with a 95.

Catherine Gordon shot 107 to lead Post Falls to a fourth-place finish, while Lakeland was led by Kylie Kime's 110.
