Ephrata’s mass vaccination event Friday at the Ephrata Municipal Airport, 1990 E. Division Ave., will move into Tier 3 1B and Tier 4 1B eligibility phases five days ahead of schedule.

According to the Washington State Department of Health, this means people 16 years and older with underlying conditions, people 60 years and older, people in correctional facilities, group homes and settings where people experiencing homelessness live, and food service, construction and manufacturing workers, are eligible to be vaccinated. Grant County Health District can open eligibility because of the number of eligible patients who haven’t been showing up, said public information officer Misty Aguilar. The Grant County Vaccine Task Force has been filling all vaccine slots via a waiting list.

“We want to make sure we get everyone vaccinated because that’s really how we keep moving forward and we really don’t want to move backward,” she said.
