TDS Telecom was recently honored by the Boys & Girls Club of Kootenai County as the “2020 Business of the Year.”

The award, presented to TDS last week, reads “with appreciation for your generosity and commitment to the betterment of the community.”

The Post Falls Chamber of Commerce held its 2021 Recognition Event and invited TDS to accept the award, while attendees were encouraged to attend via Facebook Live. Anita Parisot, field marketing manager for TDS, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“TDS went above and beyond and really leaned in when we needed help. They are new to the area but have become instrumental partners for us. We couldn’t be more grateful,” said Mark Kuhnhausen, executive director, Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County.

“It’s humbling to be recognized by the Boys & Girls Club. TDS allows me to live the company’s mission every day — being of service to the communities we live in. I’m grateful I was able to help the parents and kids who rely on the clubs each day,” Parisot said.

Last year, TDS began building a 700-mile fiber-optic network to the communities of Coeur d’Alene, Hayden, Hayden Lake, Post Falls, and Rathdrum to deliver 1Gig broadband technology. The first customers were connected in November of 2019 and services will continue launching in phases until all customers are launched by the end of 2021.

As of this month, 13,000 homes and businesses are now TDS Fiber capable. To learn more about the fiber-optic products and services that will be made available from TDS, visit http://www.tdsfiber.com
