Labrum, Mohl lead Pack sweep of Helena schools

Kynzie Mohl and Sammie Labrum homered against both Helena Capital and Helena High Saturday, and the Glacier Wolfpack beat the Bruins 11-9 and the Bengals 7-3 in Western AA softball action.
The Pack, 13-2 overall and 8-2 in league, overcame Capital’s 8-run second inning with Labrum hitting a grand slam in the second inning. Mohl had a solo shot in the first. Each player scored three runs against the Bruins.
Ella Farrell got the win on the mound in relief of Mohl, throwing five-plus innings and scattering five hits while striking out 11.
Against Helena Mohl and Labrum hit back-to-back solo homers in the fifth to break a 3-3 tie, and the Wolfpack avenged a league loss to the Bengals in April.
Mohl went five innings for the win, scattering nine hits and striking out four. Farrell finished up with two perfect innings, fanning six.
Alli Kernan gave the offense a boost against Helena with two hits and two runs scored from the No. 9 spot in the order.
Mohl had four hits. She has nine homers on the year and 33 RBIs.
Labrum drove in three against Helena, bringing her season total to 29 to go with five homers.
Glacier’s next action is Tuesday at home against Class A power Polson, at 5 p.m.
