PR girls, boys capture sixth at Timberlake Invitational

SPIRIT LAKE — Erik Deem won the boys pole vault and Annika Rantala claimed second in the girls 1600 at the Timberlake Invitational on Friday.

The Priest River boys took sixth at the meet with 49 points while the girls tied for sixth with Mullan.

The Timberlake boys earned the team title and Bonners Ferry grabbed the crown on the girls side.

Rantala's time of 6:02.5 in the 1600 was a season best.

Matyus McLain tossed a personal record of 115 feet, 1 inch in the boys discus to secure third and he placed ninth in the shot put. Levi Hanna PR'd in the shot put to take fourth and Jace Yount was 10th in the discus with a PR.

Jimmie Isenberger posted a PR of 45.33 in the 300 hurdles to grab third and Shane Gamber earned seventh in the event.

Dylan Lord blew past his PR in the 1600 to secure sixth and Ethan Korff nabbed 10th in the 3200. Aiden Troumbley was 10th in the pole vault.

The sprint medley and 4x400 relay teams both placed third for the boys. Bradley Gleason, Gamber, Korff and Isenberger were on the 4x400 team, and Joey Hayes, Deem, Gleason and Korff made up the sprint medley squad.

On the girls side, Elisheva Davis claimed fourth in the long jump with a PR of 14 feet, 2 inches and Erika Swoboda was sixth in the high jump.

Alyssa Clement grabbed 10th in the 100 hurdles.

The girls secured fourth in the 4x100 and sprint medley relays.

Priest River heads to Post Falls at 2:30 p.m. Thursday for the District 1 Meet of Champions. It's their final tune-up before districts.
