Twins notch early-season wins

The Glacier Twins baseball team went 3-1 over the weekend and drubbed Libby last Wednesday.

On Saturday they beat Butte 9-4. The score of the second game wasn't available.

Jacob Polumbus twice stole home as part of a double steal and scored four runs in the win.

George Robbins drove in two for the Twins, including an RBI single in a 2-run fourth inning that answered the Miners’ two runs in their half.

On Sunday, the Twins split a doubleheader against Belgrade, losing the opener 7-4, but winning the nightcap, 6-2.

Robbins threw a four-hitter against the Bandits. Jake Polumbus took the loss in the opener.

On Wednesday the Twins beat Libby 28-0.

Hayden Meehan drove in five runs and got the win on the mound in the drubbing of the Loggers.

The Twins face the Riverdogs on Wednesday and the Eagles on Sunday.

Police responded to a Friday morning report of a student outside Coeur d’Alene High School with what appeared to be a firearm, which turned out to be a water gun.

A Hayden woman who pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $162,000 from her former employer, some of which she repaid, received a jail sentence, according to the Idaho State Tax Commission.
