Park plows about two miles from Logan Pass

Glacier Park plows are beyond Triple Arches, encountering about 15 feet of snow on the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
That puts plows roughly two miles from Logan Pass, which is good progress for early May.
On the east side, crews were at Jackson Glacier Overlook, The big problem this year was downed trees over the road between Wild Goose Island and the overlook.
Hikers and bikers on the west side can use the road as far as the Loop when plows are working. The vehicle closure is at Lake McDonald Lodge.
On the east side, folks can drive as far as Rising Sun and then hike and bike beyond that.
The Two Medicine Road is plowed, but wasn’t open to vehicles. The Chief Mountain Road is open, but the Many Glacier Road is closed until May 28 due to construction.
The weekend weather is expected to be cool and wet, with snow levels dropping to valley floors by Saturday.
As a reminder, the west side of the Going-to-the-Sun Road will close to all traffic on Oct. 1 to March 15 from Apgar to Lake McDonald Lodge for utility work.
Folks can still access Logan Pass from the east side, until it snows in for the season.
