Grant funding to assist GL Suites

Flathead County Economic Development Authority is one of the recipients of grant funding from the Montana Department of Commerce’s Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund.

The Commerce Department announced $730,000 in business development awards earlier this month.

FCEDA will receive a grant on behalf of GL Suites Inc., which estimates it will create 40 jobs and will be reimbursed up to $200,000.

GL Suites provides configurable off-the-shelf software packages for automating the operations of regulatory agencies. Grant funds will be used for wage reimbursement, and to purchase computers, software, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

Chamber social gatherings resume

Area Chambers of Commerce are rolling back to in-person events, with two social gatherings planned this month.

The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce will resume its Unwind business after rours gathering from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11 at MontaVino Winery, 38 First Ave. E., Suite D, Kalispell

There will be appetizers and music, along with MontaVino wine.

Be sure to bring business cards to exchange with your new connections and also to enter for one of the evening’s raffle prizes.

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce will reintroduce its Business After Hours gatherings this month with an event starting at 5:30 p.m. on May 25. The event runs until 7 p.m. at the Meadow Lake Resort patio, 100 St. Andrew’s Drive, Columbia Falls. It is free and open to the public, with networking opportunities and drawings.
