Spartan baseball falls to No. 1 Bonners Ferry, faces Kellogg in loser-out game

BONNERS FERRY — The Priest River baseball team lost to No. 1 seed Bonners Ferry 12-1 in the first round of the 3A District 1 tournament on Monday.
The Badgers scored 11 runs in the third inning to cruise to victory. The game was called in the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule.
Everett Hannah, Coby Rogers and Konner Johnson all recorded hits for the Spartans (1-18).
With the loss, Priest River, the No. 4 seed, will head to No. 3 seed Kellogg at 4 p.m. Tuesday to play in the district loser-out game. The Spartans would advance to a winner-to-state-play-in game on Wednesday with a victory over the Wildcats. They would face the loser of Tuesday's district title game between Bonners Ferry and Timberlake.
