Flathead softball falls twice in Butte

BUTTE — The Butte Bulldogs were too much for Flathead’s softball team Tuesday, scoring a Western AA doubleheader sweep by scores of 15-2 and 18-4.

In the first game Aubree Corcoran’s two-run homer sparked a 5-run inning that saw Flathead (5-13 overall, 4-9 in league) starting pitcher Ilyssa Centner leave the game with an injury.

In the second game freshman Cami Kautzman came in and hit two homers and drove in five runs to lead the Bulldogs (7-11, 6-6).

Brianna Morales drove in all of the Bravettes’ runs in the second game, hitting a 2-run single in the first inning and a 2-run double in the fifth. Both games ended early under the mercy rule.

McCaul McCarthy went a combined 7-for-8 on the day for Butte, including a double, a triple and five RBIs.
