Moses Lake firefighters responded at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday to fires involving two sheds in the 3000 block of Lakeshore Drive.
The blaze was caused by someone burning weeds, said Moses Lake Fire Department Chief Brett Bastian. The flames got away from them, burning a fence, a shed and a shed on the neighboring property. Firefighters controlled the fire within 15 minutes and remained on site for two hours.
The blaze came close to several vehicles, but no one was injured.
“When people are out conducting burning, (they need to) make sure they have their proper permits and pay close attention to fire safety,” Bastian said.
