Hope Elementary to host ‘Spring Fling’

The tenth annual Hope Elementary Spring Fling will take place Saturday, May 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hope Elementary School.
The Spring Fling will include a yard sale, plant sale, bake sale, car wash and barbecue to finish off the event, said Hope Partners in Education president Michelle Adams.
The fundraiser will go to help pay for a Missoula Children's Theatre visit, jogging club, classroom needs, the school’s Summer Learning Program, the Welcome Back Open House, the Accelerated Reader Program end of year prizes and a family STEAM (science, technology engineering, art and math) night.
Around 60% of Hope Elementary students participate in the children’s theater, and almost all participate in jogging club, Adams said.
The family nights provide an educational opportunity for students that allow parents to be involved in their children’s education, she said.
Roughly 50 people helped organize the event, Adams said, including volunteers and community members donating items to sell.
“It’s really a community event where a lot of people are donating their time,” she said. “A lot of people that are helping organize it have been doing [so] the past couple weeks.”
