Local athletes make good showing at NCW Regionals

WENATCHEE — The high school track season wrapped up over the weekend for the North Central Washington Region squads with the NCW Regional Championship in Wenatchee on Saturday.

Ephrata High School’s Lola See took first place in the shot put finals by a huge margin on. See also finished seventh in the girls discus event. Ephrata’s boys 4x400-meter relay team of Gunnar Peterson, Corbin Keys, Austin Ruffins and Chance Garcia also finished first overall.

Ephrata’s Conrad Ziemer placed second in the 400-meter finals. Travis Hendrick placed second in the 110-meter hurdles while teammate Trent Black finished third in the 300-meter hurdles. Julie Davis took third in the 200-meter and fourth in the 100-meter dash on Saturday for the Tigers.

Lacey Moser, Ebubechi Abonyi, Saige Roylance and Goziechi Abonyi took first for Moses Lake High School in the girls 4x100. Ebubechi and Goziechi Abonyi, Saige Roylance and Kate Mount placed first in the 4x200 relay. Moses Lake’s Nicholas Elliot took second overall in the 3200-meter run. Moses Lake’s Kate Mount finished second in the girls 400-meter event. Ethan Labonte finished third overall in both the 800 and 1600-meter events.

Reise Raymond took second place in the boys javelin event for the Chiefs. Moses Lake’s Lacey Moser took second place in both the triple jump and long jump events and placed fourth in the pole vault finals.

Royal High School’s Angel Farias Ramos placed second overall in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes on Saturday. Teammate Gunner Livingston finished fourth in both events. Wahluke High School senior Logan Marlow finished third overall in the high jump event. Quincy’s Jane Kennedy finished third in the 1600-meter and sixth overall in the 800-meter event.
